Bell & Gossett Motor Mount and Coupler Package 118706 - Bell & Gossett motor mount and cast iron coupler set P/N 118706 Used with Series 100, HV and 2" with 5" motor Kit includes spring coupler and 2 motor mounts used with Bell & Gossett series 75, 100, 125, 150, HV and 2" circulators. A common issue with Bell & Gossett circulator mechanical seal failure or coupler failure is an alignment or pump mounting issue. This style pump is designed to be supported by the piping and should never be used with supports under the motor. The motor is designed using a sheet metal housing that surrounds the motor and bolts to the bearing assembly. The motor is attached to the housing using 2 rubber rings called resilient mounts. The center of the ring is a metal sleeve that attaches to the motor and the outside of the ring is a metal sleeve that is clamped in place by the sheet metal housing. The rubber inside the mount is designed to dampen noise. Over a period of time the rubber will begin to break down and allow the motor to droop inside the mount. This causes an aligment issue with the motor and bearing assembly which will ultimately lead to coupling failure and mechanical seal and bearing failure.
